Take-Home Folder
1. Your child will be transporting a take-home folder to and from school each day. Inside you may find important notes for you, homework and/or projects/work from the school day. It is a good habit to check the folder with your child daily. Please help your child remove class work and old notes from his/her folder in order to keep it neat and organized. In addition, please help your child get into the habit of returning the take-home folder back into his/her backpack each night. First grade is a time of growing independence. Helping to build good habits at the start of the school year helps your child to more easily transition into fulfilling these responsibilities independently.2. Please send a backpack/book bag large enough to fit the take-home folder each day. Please label the bag with your child’s name
3. If you have a note for one or all of the teachers, please send it in the take-home folder and tell your child to give it to his/her teacher when unpacking his/her take-home folder (we will also assist in building the habit of unpacking the folder daily).
